Errant chainsaw, Elmhurst Drive: On June 18, police were dispatched to Elmhurst Drive regarding an injured man.

It turned out the caller was the injured party who hurt himself in the chest while cutting wood. An arriving officer talked to the victim, who sustained a four-inch laceration on his left breast.

The Brecksville man was helping out the resident when he got too close to the chainsaw. The injured worker was transported by the Seven Hills fire department to the hospital.

Property damage, Pleasant Run Drive: On June 21, police were dispatched to a Pleasant Run Drive address regarding a damaged vehicle.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said they found their Toyota with red spray paint on the left side.

The officer then searched the area, locating numerous vehicles with similar red spray paint on McCreary Road, Vezber Lane and Edgewood Lane.

All told, more than half a dozen vehicles were painted. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
