Acclaimed animation studio MAPPA revs its engines with the bloodiest and most compelling preview of Chainsaw Man yet, highlighting the key players.
A brand new Chainsaw Man trailer offers the most coherent and graphic look yet at the highly-anticipated anime adaptation. Acclaimed animation studio MAPPA produces the upcoming series, which comes to Crunchyroll later this year. It adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto's ultra-popular dark fantasy/action manga Chainsaw Man, centering on the impoverished devil hunter Denji as he joins the Public Safety Division alongside his best friend, the Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Under the watchful eye of his supervisor Makima, Denji teams with other hunters like Aki and Himeno and a devil called Power to slay the Gun Devil.
The newest trailer released by MAPPA gives fans their best preview of the underlying plot of Chainsaw Man and its most integral characters. The footage immediately sets the stage with Makima addressing the Gun Devil's creation and giving Denji an ultimatum after finding him one day: die as a devil, or work for her as a human. Subsequent clips of Aki, Power, and Denji reveal their overarching personalities before Denji slices and dices as the eponymous Chainsaw Man. Check out the trailer below:

With the Chainsaw Man manga returning after a nearly two-year hiatus, the trailer comes out at the perfect time to excite existing readers and draw in new fans who may also want to dive into the source material. MAPPA's trailer also does an excellent job highlighting the key players' motivations and how unique Denji is in the show's universe. According to the YouTube description, Chainsaw Man will arrive on TV Tokyo and other stations in October 2022 and will likely see a Crunchyroll release around the same time.
