WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Wytheville Police Department needs the public’s help to identify the person connected with stealing a grass trimmer.

Police say the incident happened at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at an apartment complex on the east side of town. That’s when a man took a Troy Built grass trimmer and put it in the back of his vehicle before driving off.

According to the department’s Facebook post, the man’s vehicle was described as an older model SUV painted camouflage.

“This individual felt very comfortable just picking up someone else’s property in the middle of the night and taking it. Just one tip could lead us to a suspect(s) and could close out dozens of similar cases. Not just open cases in Wytheville but in Wythe County, and surrounding towns, counties, and states. Criminals like these travel at night looking for easy-to-grab items they can pawn off or sell on market place” stated the Wytheville Police Department’s Facebook post.

If you have any information about this incident you can call the Wytheville Police Department at 276-223-3300 and ask for Officer Nick Jonas.
